Who can join the club?

Everyone is invited to be a part of the club despite what school you attend, your ability, or how old you are.  Everyone is able to take part in racing too, however, only St. Xavier students can be part of the St.X team at the High School Race.  Other racers that do not attend St. X may form teams with other students that attend their high school or race individualy.

What does being a member of the club require of me?

The main purpose of the Ski club is to receive discounted prices on season passes.  Thus the only obligation you have as being a member is to buy one of the three season passes offered.  However, by being part of the club there are many additional options that are NOT mandatory: racing, skiing with other members on Club Days, buying a club sweathshirt and possibly more as we think of bigger and better things to do.

What exaclty are North Bend Skiing Club Days?  Is transportation included?

Scheduled and organized club days are new this year and are intended to be a few preselected days during the season (To Be Anounced At A Later Date) which allow club members to meet each other and ski together.  Unfortuately, with no sponsorship from the school and no other source of funds we are unable to provide transportation.  However, on the club days we will probably meet at St. X and carpool on the way up.  We are not exactly sure how this is going to work yet because we have never done it before, but final plans will be made when we announce when the club days are.  I would assume we will have at least 10-12 club days.

I have never been skiing or snowboarding before and would like to take lessons. Does the club offer lessons?

There are a few options you can choose if wanting to take lessons.  A set of four one hour lessons can be purchased when you buy your season pass for an additional $40.  If you do not wish to take four lessons or want to take more, group lessons are offered directly through Perfect North Slopes every hour on the hour from 10am-8pm on Monday through Sunday for $10 an hour.  If your are interested on picking up the sport at a quicker pace I reccomend that you take private lessons instead, which is $35 an hour or $150 for five one hour sessions. Finally, if you have several friends who are decent skiers, the easiest way for you to pick up the sport may simple be to ski with people who are better than you.

How do we stay up-dated and find out more information about the club?

Despite our best efforts, the school still will not allow us to hold meetings, have announcements or post materials in the school. Therefore, we depend VERY heavily on the Internet for correspondence. Overall, we are limited to this website, email, phone, and personal contact for club coordination. Therefore, you might want to sign up for our email list at northbendskiclub@yahoo.com.  We recommend that you check both your email and this website on a frequent basis.
